The TRREB Beginnings:
1920–1945

Prior to the establishment of real estate boards, agents were unlicensed and unregulated. Agents provided diversified business practices, including insurance, loan financing, notary services, marriage licensing, and even small appliance sales. Established in 1920, TRREB assembled Toronto REALTOR® to provide professional and standardized services to aid the growth of Toronto.
