- In 1927, a TRREB Past President, Frank McLaughlin, forecasted great growth for the city of Toronto: “In my opinion there is absolutely no doubt of good business for the next ten years … there has been so many changes in the world in the past 20 years, such as the coming into common use of the automobile, wireless telegraphy, and radio, that we don’t realize the changes that these and other modern inventions have on our means of livelihood.” He went on to add that prohibition and aeroplanes had a positive effect on real estate sales (The Globe, May 5, 1927)
